I opened Rhapsody in Bloom in August of 2017 after a year of thinking about my dream job and what that looks like. I have a background in costume design and theater and thought that was going to be my future, but then plants came into my life in a botany class and I never looked back. My mom was the one who suggested I combine my love of theater and art with my love of plants and science, so I changed paths and studied Ornamental Horticulture. After being in school for a few years, I had a friend that said “hey you know about flowers, can you do my wedding flowers??” And I naively said “sure! but I have no idea what I’m doing!” That was the fall of 2014 and here I am today doing weddings full time! I took a huge leap of faith in 2017 and started my wedding and event floral business. I continuously study, go to conferences, take classes and learn more and more about flowers every year. There is always something new and I continue to love bringing flowers to one of the most important days of your life.
When I’m not washing buckets, processing flowers or planning your wedding, I am walking my dog, Violette, or trying to cuddle my cats Fern and Moss. They don’t like me nearly as much as I love them. My husband, Andrew or ‘Bucket Boy’, is my rock and supporter along with my family who is always a phone call away if I need help delivering and setting up. This business I carved out of nothing has fueled me through some of the hardest years we as a collective have ever been through and I hope that my flowers continue to bring people joy for many years to come.
I look forward to learning more about you and working with you!
